To be eligible for full membership of SEPA applicants must:
- Be a registered physiotherapist
- Have five years full-time equivalent experience in musculoskeletal
physiotherapy practice with a minimum of 5,000 hours of practice
in the area of shoulder and elbow dysfunction
- Work at least 30% of their time in the area of shoulder and elbow physiotherapy
- Submit an application form to SEPA
- Provide a letter of recommendation from a physiotherapist or medical practitioner
- Maintain active participation in SEPA by, over a 4 year period:
- Presenting at a SEPA Biennial Conference
- Conducting or participating in SEPA
sponsored education or research projects
To be eligible for associate membership of SEPA applicants must:
- Be a registered physiotherapist
- Be interested in shoulder and elbow physiotherapy but
not currently able to meet full membership criteria
- Submit an application form to SEPA
- Provide a letter of recommendation from a physiotherapist or medical practitioner
- Apply for full membership of SEPA within 4 years
SEPA Objectives
- To provide a forum for informed communication between Australian and
New Zealand shoulder and elbow physiotherapists
- To organise annual meetings of SEPA members
- To conduct workshops on best practice in the treatment of shoulder and
elbow dysfunction
- To foster multidisciplinary dialogue with other health professionals in this area
of shoulder and elbow dysfunction
- To co-ordinate research into the treatment of shoulder and elbow dysfunction
- To provide a focus for communication between other national groups of shoulder
and elbow therapists
